Horseback Riding Information

   R4R.jpg
Horseback riding lessons are inherently dangerous and the riding waiver must be read and signed to continue. Horses are animals and all animals can be dangerous, but know that I have instructed for almost 20 years and never had an accident.  I take the safety of your children and the safety of my horses very seriously.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.  I am a certified instructor of natural horsemanship and have taught beginning and advanced students of all ages.  I have taught horsemanship to children and adults with disabilities as well worked as an equine assisted therapy specialist.
I teach all lessons semi-private, so there will be 2 to 3 people per class.  I match  students based on skill and age, so you may not receive the class you sign-up for but I will try to be as accommodating as possible.  Classes are exactly an hour long, and this time includes approximately 5 minutes of grooming and saddling, 10 minutes of ground work (warming the horse up before you ride)  and 5 minutes of cool-down.  Your student should plan on riding about 40 minutes of each lesson.  Long pants and boots with a heel are required and helmets are strongly advised.  A bike helmet, skateboard helmet or ski helmet would suffice-an equine riding helmet is not required.

Before each session we will have a brief 30 minute introduction to the farm, rules, the other students, and of course, the Horses!  This will be free of charge and helps provide understanding of safety and requirements.

The final class of the 6 week session will be an exhibition class where parents and siblings are invited to come and see what your student has been learning!

My facility has two arenas, a large and a small where our lessons will be held.  There is a sitting area and a sand playground that parents and siblings can sit and wait for their student to complete their class or students can be dropped off and picked up at the end of the lesson. There are  no Restrooms.   No one is allowed by the corrals or the horses unless they are directly participating with the class or invited by the instructor.

If you decide to sign up for this program, I need the first lesson payment to hold your spot, $30, and I need the waiver signed and returned.  I also need the time you would like to sign up for, and a back-up time just in case. Be aware I am filling up fast. Because I am the mother of 3 beautiful children first, I only teach so many lessons each session.  The cost of the class is $180, which can be paid weekly or as a one-time fee.

I love answering any questions you have.  I want you to feel confident that this is the right decision for your child.  Please email me at axland10@gmail.com.
